What is the '7' in Meditation 7.com?...

When you visit us at Meditation 7 it is our hope that you will be moved to take some time out for yourself to rest not only your physical body, but your heart and mind. That is why we attach the number 7 to our name as an esoteric symbol of the seventh day - the day of rest!

The Number 7 - A Day Of Rest

meditation - a time to stand back, absorb & reflect on our life.

The Seventh day was ordained in holy scripture as a day of rest - the sabbath. The word Sabbath implies rest, peace, tranquility and refreshment

Modern science is learning more and more about the effects of stress on human beings. We do need time to recuperate from the physical, mental, and emotional pressures of life. Each night we need sleep and each week we need a day to cease from our daily labors, a day to relax, to rest, to reflect on who we are and where we're going.

Seven Chakras

There are SEVEN major Chakras along our body, pronounced with a hard 'ch' as in 'Church'. These are the energy vessels with which we both interact with the outside world and the inner workings of our bodies.

  • Root/Base Chakra - Muladhara
  • Sacral/Naval Chakra - Savadhisthana
  • Solar Plexus Chakra - Manipura
  • Heart Chakra - Anahata
  • Throat Chakra - Vishuddha
  • Third Eye Chakra - Ajna
  • Crown Chakra - Sahasrara
Seven Planets
In astrology, Saturn, Venus, Jupiter, Mercury, Mars, and the Moon and Sun are the traditional seven planets.

In ancient mythology seven spirits were recognized as the divine beings embodied in the luminaries of the sky

In ancient cosmology each of these seven orbs were seen to pass through twelve constellations known as the zodiac each of these signs were named and given an orb ruler through which the spirit or nature of its influence was obtained.

The Seven Rainbow Colors

red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet

The rainbow has a place in legend owing to its beauty and the historical difficulty in explaining the phenomenon.

In Greek mythology, the rainbow was considered to be a path made by a messenger (Iris) between Earth and Heaven. In Chinese mythology, the rainbow was a slit in the sky sealed by Goddess Nüwa using stones of five different colours. In Hindu mythology, the rainbow is called Indradhanush, meaning the bow of Indra, the God of lightning and thunder. In Norse Mythology, a rainbow called the Bifröst Bridge connects the realms of Ásgard and Midgard, homes of the gods and humans, respectively. The Irish leprechaun's secret hiding place for his pot of gold is usually said to be at the end of the rainbow. This place is impossible to reach, because the rainbow is an optical effect which depends on the location of the viewer. When walking towards the end of a rainbow, it will move further away.

In the Biblical Canon of Christian and Jewish scripture, the rainbow is explicitly stated as a sign of the Noahic Covenant between God and The Creation, and the biblical God's promise to Noah that never again would The World be purified by the Deluge (Genesis 9.13-15[10]):

The Tree of Life

The Tree of Life is a blueprint of man and creation. The SEVEN lower sephirot are the spheres of reality - or the physical world.

  • Chesed - Mercy/ Grace/ Love. God - Power of Vision
  • Gevurah - Judgment/ strength/ determination - Power of Intention
  • Tipheret - Symmetry/ balance/ compassion - Creative Power
  • Netzach - Contemplation/ Initiative/ persistence - Power of the Eternal Now
  • Hod - Surrender/ sincerity/ steadfastness - Intellectual/ Observational Power
  • Yesod - Foundation/ wholly remembering/ coherent knowledge - Power of Manifesting
  • Malkuth - Lower Crown - Kingdom/ physical presence/ vision and illusion - Power of Healing/ Accomplishment/ Level of Realization of Divine Plan

The three remaining higher sephirot are the connections to the divine - the spiritual world:

To use the Tree of Life with meditation is to bridge the gap between the physical and the spiritual world.
